MAHL works to open border to Canadian players

MAHL - Mid-Atlantic Hockey League

CANTON, OH – The Mid-Atlantic Hockey League completed its spring meetings this past week and developed a comprehensive approach to opening its rosters to Canadian players.

Andrew Haines, president and founder of the MAHL was pleased at the conclusion of the spring meetings.

“The team owners and the league offices created a reasonable process for attracting Canadian talent to the MAHL and our teams,” said Haines.

CANTON, OH – The Mid-Atlantic Hockey League successfully completed its annual spring meetings this weekend. The meetings focused on the MAHL’s second season which will begin with the opening of training camps on November 17, 2008. Vendors and equipment representatives attended the meetings and made proposals to the MAHL for the coming season.

The league meetings resulted in a series of decisions for the coming season designed to support the league and improve the fans’ excitement in the MAHL and their teams.

CANTON, OH – The Mid-Atlantic Hockey League will conduct its annual ownership meeting on May 3rd and 4th in Canton, Ohio. The meeting will address the 2008-2009 MAHL season which is set to begin in November 2008.

Additional items to be discussed include the pending announcements of two MAHL expansion teams in Michigan. The MAHL ownership meetings will review and consider equipment deals for the MAHL second season.

In other issues of importance to the MAHL and its member teams, two head coaching positions remain available to interested candidates. The MAHL league meetings also will address the open general manager positions in four franchises. MAHL fans will be excited to know that their teams have conducted successful player tryouts and the teams are already building their rosters for the 2008-2009 season.
